Apartment Review for Beau Chene - Baton Rouge, LA

I live in a 3/2 unit near the back of the complex. I've had nothing but positive experiences with Beau Chene. We've had a problem with our bathtubs draining, ants, and I think the garbage disposal.. They were all checked out by the owner within a day, and depending on the severity of the problem, were fixed within three. The owner is very hands-on and takes great pride in maintaining his units. Our unit was completely remodeled before we moved in.. it was freshly painted with brand new carpet. Parking is EXCELLENT-- there are no parking permits or guest spots so your friends don't have to walk a mile to get to your apartment. There are always spots available. Occasionally someone has a party, but the walls are pretty thick so they don't get too loud. I live right next to the pool so that's saying a lot! Most of the students that live in Beau Chene are upperclassmen. The previous reviewer mentioned the armed robberies in the complex. Yes, they did happen, but the BRPD officer who lives on site (and has for a few years) provided extra security. The same break-ins occurred in other apartment communities around campus in way higher volumes. He sent out a letter within a day of the first attack and held a meeting (with free Mike Anderson's!) within a week. They also give residents the officer's name and cell number. Also in reference to the other reviewer, I'm a girl, not a gay guy, and haven't had a single problem.
