Apartment Review for Shenandoah Bend - Baton Rouge, LA

This is the most ridiculous renting experience my husband and I have ever had. We recently moved to Baton Rouge and owned a home previously. The requirements for this apartment are absurd. They require that you go to the jail to get your own background check and that all deposits be paid by money order. Upon moving in we were quite dismayed at the condition of the apartment. The floor was covered in stains and the counter tops were coming up. We requested these things be fixed before we moved our things in however were advised that due to the age of the apartments these things would not be fixed. We have been here six months now and have suffered the entire time with a nauseating smell in the kitchen. When we asked to have this inspected for mold they threatened to kick us out. When they did inspect (and not below or behind the cabinets) they did not find anything and just today we received notice to vacate. They told us that we were making "unreasonable requests". We have an 11 month old and I am 6 months pregnant. I don't believe asking them to check for mold is "unreasonable".
