Apartment Review for Teakwood Village Apartments - Baton Rouge, LA

I lived here for a year in 2005-2006 and it was a decent place to start out at. You are tricked into thinking it is really nice with the model apartment but when you move in, it's a totally different story. I don't know how the buildings are standing up because I never found a stud in the whole apartment. The AC is very old, so if you live in a two story, the upstairs is always hotter than downstairs and the unit is very loud. There is also no outlets in the bathroom upstairs, so to blowdry your hair you have to go to the half bath. The rooms are large and the windows are also. They are single pane windows that do not have good seals, so your energy bills will run high. During the summer, neighborhood kids from the Gardere area play in the pool, which can be very loud. I had great experiences with the management as they were always prompt and helpful. You just have to be friendly and get to know them. You will not get your entire security deposit back as they charge for general cleaning and carpet cleaning even if you do it yourself.
