Apartment Review for The Park At Bluebonnet - Baton Rouge, LA

I am not a problem resident. I don't have issues. But on the few occasions where something has come up, instead of listening to the issues that you have, the office staff and management, as well as the receptionist/secretaries of the owner, are well trained in quoting the same wordage on why they can't help you, and there is no one who has the authority to help you, and the owner of the company is the only one who has authority and he will not speak to residents. Over all, if you ever have to deal with anything at the park, get ready to hear a "tape recorder". I think they do this so that you get frustrated with the hassle and give up. They love to say that the Fair Houseing laws prevent them from giving anyone special treatment, because that means that they can treat everyone equally horrible. To prevent having to help anyone, they say that they'd have to do the same thing for everyone. And I'm not talking about major issues here, I'm talking about the little day today details that you would normally expect from the office of an apartment complex. Unless you are handing them money, do not expect to get any service. They were super nice and helpful when I was first looking at the apartment, but that all changed when I signed my lease. From then on, I felt like a rent check delivery service. The only possitive postings on this site are from the office employees. Notice how they all say the same things there too. Parking is also rediculous. They came up with this great scam to get even more money out of there residents. They cover 80% of the parking spaces and expect you to rent a covered space while the few uncovered spaces are intended for guests. Unless you rent a spot each month, then you have to circle around and hunt for a guest spot that could be 3-4 buildings away. Not quite a luxury at all. It is such a disheartening thing to have to carry your groceries past 4 buildings and about 50 empty covered spaces. Not all apartments at the park are like this, but mine is poorly finished. The walls are cracked and the door to the patio is mildewed and rotting in places, the stucco is falling off of the wall, the kitchen light switch is on the opposite wall of the dining room. door stoppers are missing and cover for the closet light is missing and the wires are exposed. It looks like this apartment was never finished. And they don't let you see your exact apartment before you move in. They show you the perfect model appartment. No one would rent then if they walked in and they looked the way they do. I wrote all of that on the maintenance request form the very first day and nothing was ever done. The workout room is great for 1980, cause that is the decade that all of the equipment is from. It is also very small for the size of the complex. There are many times when every treadmill is taken and the person in control of the one TV wants to watch fishing. They only have a workout room so they can add it to the short list of ammenities. The walking track is okay but there are areas that are really spooky and sections where you have to cross the parking lot and main entry ways. There are racoons and neutra rats running around at night. Threre are sections that are behind building and not lighted and don't feel safe. There is always animal poop on the walkway. And there is always trash around from animals digging in the garbage. Overall, DO NOT RENT HERE. save yourself the hassle, and the money and go someplace where they really care about you.
