Apartment Review for The Venue At Northgate - Baton Rouge, LA

The Venue at Northgate is supposed to be a luxury apartment complex; however, you pay too much for what you have to put up with. The walls are thin; every single day I have to listen to my neighbors' music. My roommate and I have complained numerous times about the loud music and even called the cops, but it still persists. The thing that irritates me the most is the utter lack of respect that residents have for others. For one, there's the loud music. The parking garage seems nice until you must deal with people flying through it and barely hitting your car, the horrible parking jobs of other residents (those yellow lines are there for a reason), or the lack of parking due to non-residents illegally parking in the garage all the time. The security isn't all that great; doors are constantly propped open (often with beer bottles); there have been car robberies in the parking garage, and one day my roommate encountered a creepy older guy in the gym early one morning. Also, people will constantly follow you into the parking garage or into the building (and they're likely not residents, since they don't use their garage door opener or radio key). The disrespect of residents for others is also clear from the piles of garbage left outside the main doors to the hallways (even though the garbage chute is in the parking garage). There's obscence and graphic graffiti on the top floor of the parking garage. There's also the late-night/early-morning parties and get-togethers by the pool (definitely not lacking in volume). The people in the office can be nice but often won't do what they say they will. Our air conditioner and garbage disposal required repair within 6 months of moving in.
